Every woman deserves to feel safe in the place she calls home. Help Her is a global initiative in, dedicated to empowering young women to live free from harassment, abuse, and fear. Through education, partnership, and strong community advocacy, we’re building a world where safety and respect are the norm — not the exception.
Our programs raise awareness about women’s rights and personal safety, connect survivors with trusted support networks, and work closely with schools, local businesses, and city leaders to make Dresden a safer place for everyone. Whether it’s through workshops, street safety campaigns, or peer mentorship, Help Her stands beside young women every step of the way.
Our Mission and Values
At Help Her, we believe that knowledge is power — and safety starts with awareness. That’s why we provide practical advice and up-to-date safety tips designed for women navigating daily life around the world. From commuting safely at night to recognizing early signs of harassment, we share guidance that helps young women move confidently through their city.
We also offer travel tips for students, expats, and visitors to countries around the world, helping them understand the safest routes, public transport options, and areas to be cautious around. Our goal is to create a clear and supportive network of information that women can trust.
Looking ahead, Help Her is developing detailed community safety manuals and advisory maps that highlight both safe and unsafe locations across cities — based on real experiences and verified reports. These resources will help women make informed choices about where they live, work, and spend time, while also encouraging local authorities to improve conditions where needed.
Because being safe isn’t just about avoiding danger — it’s about being informed, empowered, and connected.
Trustworthy Practical Support
Help Her was born from a moment of courage and consequence. While visiting his host family in Dresden, Germany, John Rudat stepped in to defend a young woman being assaulted when no one else would. After stopping the initial attack, a second man approached and slashed John across the face — an act that left a scar, but also a clear purpose.
That night revealed a hard truth: we can’t always be there when danger strikes, but we can do more to help prevent it. From that experience grew Help Her — a commitment to empower women through awareness, safety guidance, and community support. Today, we continue that mission to make not only Dresden a place where women feel secure, supported, and never alone, but the world.
